3 murdered

Three people were found murdered in Mymensingh, Shariatpur and Gazipur on Monday, report our correspondents.

In Mymensingh, unidentified criminals killed a day labourer in Gouripur upazila.

The deceased, Morshed Ali, 35, was son of Alim Uddin of Bangnamari village.

Quoting locals, police said a gang intercepted Morshed while he was returning and killed him by slitting his throat with a sharp weapon around 10:00pm.

Hearing screams, villagers went to the spot and found Morshed lying dead in a pool of blood, said Officer-in-Charge Delwar Ahmed of Gouripur Police Station.

Meanwhile, police recovered the body of a 12-year-old boy in Shariatpur Sadar upazila on Monday, a day after he went missing on Sunday.

The deceased, Osman Matbor, son of Idrish Matbor of Bhashanchar village in the upazila, was a student of Dadpur Nomania Madrasa.

Away in Gazipur, the decomposed body of a young man, aged around 35 years, was recovered from Kutubdia village in Kaliakoir upazila on Monday.

Police, who recovered the body and sent it to a hospital for autopsy, said criminals might have killed the youth three to four days ago and later dumped the body there.
