3 female ‘JMB’ members on remand

A Tangail court today placed three female members of Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) on a three-day remand.

Senior Judicial Magistrate Abdullah Al Masum passed the order after the three women -- Jannati alias Jemmy, 18, Sajida Akter, 22, and Rozina Begum, 30 -- were produced before court.

They were arrested from Kalihati upazila in Tangail on July 5 along with two machetes, one knife, a mobile phone containing videos of slaughtering techniques and a script containing techniques of making bombs, said Mohammad Akheruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Kalihati police.
