3 charged with raping schoolgirl in Jhalakathi

Three people have been sued on charge of violating a schoolgirl in Parmhal area under Sadar upazila of the district.

The accused are Rasel Hawlader, 21, Rimon, 13, and Kaiyum, 15, of the area. Of them, two were arrested, said police.

The case was filed with Sadar Police Station on Wednesday night, said Shilamoni Chakma, officer-in-charge of the PS.

According to the case statement, neighbour Rimon on Tuesday evening picked up the seventh grader from the house in absence of her parents.

He then took the girl to a nearby forest and raped her with the help of his two cohorts.  Later, locals rescued the girl from the spot in an unconscious state.

The girl was sent to Jhalakathi Sadar Hospital for medical test, said the OC.
