27 illegal Bangladeshis deported from USA

A total of 27 Bangladeshi illegal migrants reached home from the United States early today.

“Their repatriation process was completed in collaboration with Bangladesh Embassy in Washington and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,” a deputy secretary of the ministry told The Daily Star.

A special Bangladesh Biman flight carrying the deported Bangladeshis reached Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka early today.

They were tortured in the custody and kept handcuffed in the flight too, the deportees alleged.

Earlier on April 1, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that US would be sending back some “illegal migrants”.
