24.12 lakh students to sit for JSC, JDC exams on Nov 1

A total of 24, 12,775 students will sit for the Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations scheduled to begin on November 1.

The examinations will end on November 17 and the results will be published by December 30, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid told reporters at a briefing at his Secretariat office this noon.

A total of 20, 38,303 examinees will sit for the JSC exams while 3, 74,472 examinees will sit for the JDC exams. The total number of examinees has increased by 1, 64,029 compared to that of the previous year, the minister also said.

The JSC examinations will be held at 2,002 centres while JDC examinations at 732 centres across the country.

Meanwhile, 681 examinees will appear in the JSC and JDC exams at eight overseas centres-- Jeddah and Riyadh of Saudi Arabia, Tripoli of Libya, Doha of Qatar, Abu Dhabi and Dubai of United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Saham of Oman, according to the release.
