2 ‘robbers’ killed in Comilla ‘gunfight’

Two suspected robbers were killed in a reported gunfight with police at Debidwar upazila of Comilla early today.

Tipped off that a gang of robbers was preparing to commit robberies, police conducted a drive in an area adjacent to Zafarganj Bazar around 4am, said Mohammad Shah Abid Hossain, superintendent of Comilla Police.

However, sensing the presence of the police team, the robbers swooped on them, forcing the law enforcers to retaliate  triggering the gunfight, leaving two dead on the spot.

The police official claimed that five of their members were also injured.
