2 minor girls drown in Bogra

Two minor girls drowned in the Bangali River at Naldingipara in Sherpur upazila of Bogra district today.

Golam Rabbani, a member of Khamarkandi union, said Brishti, 6, daughter of Abdul Alim and Farzana, 7, daughter of Farhad Ali of Khamarbari area, went to the river for taking bath with Brishti's mother in the afternoon.

At one stage, both the girls went missing and drowned in the river.

A pall of gloom descended on the village after local people recovered their bodies from the river.
