2 killed in Mymensingh village clash

At least two people are killed and three others injured in a village clash over a trifling matter at Gouripur upazila in Mymensingh.

At least two people were killed and three others injured in a clash over a trifling matter at Gouripur upazila in Mymensingh this morning.

The deceased were identified as Abu Rastik, 50, and his sister Razia Khatun, 55, residents of Moylakanda village at the upazila, our Mymensingh correspondent reports quoting Akhtar Morshed, officer-in-charge of Gouripur Police Station.

Two groups of locals locked into the clash as a cow of the victims ate up some paddy of their neighbour Aftab last afternoon.

Aftab’s people equipped with sharp weapons swooped on the victims when locals were trying to solve the matter by arranging village arbitration this morning.

The clash left five people critically injured. Of them, Rastik and Razia succumbed to their injuries at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital between 1:30pm and 2:00pm, the OC added.
