2 kids drown in pond

Two minor boys drowned in ponds in two upazilas of Rangpur yesterday and on Monday. The deceased were identified as Shawon Ahmed, 4, son Humayun Kabir of Bhayarhat village in Kaunia upazila, and Mominul Karim, 6, son of Morsalim Mia of Azitpara village in Mithapukur upazila. Family sources said Shawon fell into the pond near their house while plying on its bank and drowned around 11:30am yesterday. In another incident, family members found Mominul's floating body in a pond adjacent to their house around 5:00pm on Monday.
