Two physically challenged readymade garment workers were killed as a train hit them in Gazipur Sadar upazila this morning.

Deceased Ramjan Ali, 28, and Parvez, 27, were workers of Keya Knit Composite Factory in Gazipur, our local correspondent reports quoting Dadon Mia, assistant sub-inspector of Joydebpur Railway Police Outpost.

Ramjan and Parvez hailing from Khulna were speech and hearing impaired. But police could not confirm who was speech or hearing impaired, ASI Dadon told our correspondent.

A Jamalpur-bound commuter train from Dhaka hit the duo on Bhurulia Railway Bridge around 7:00am while they were returning home from a mosque at Bhurulia market, leaving them critically injured, the ASI said.

Locals rushed them to Gazipur Sadar Hospital where doctors declared them dead, he added.

The bodies will be sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
