2 drivers killed

Two drivers of battery-run three-wheelers were found murdered in Dinajpur and Naogaon yesterday.

The deceased were Moin Uddin, 27, son of Alauddin Mia, a resident of Baznahar village in Biral upazila of Dinajpur, and Abdul Khaleque, son of Hurmat Ali of Donail village in Badalgachhi upazila of Naogaon. 

Police said Moin went out of the house with his easy-bike on Monday night and did not return.

Villagers spotted Moin's body under a culvert at Teghra village and informed police, who recovered the body and sent it to M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

Away in Naogaon, family members said Khaleque left his home with the auto-rickshaw on Monday night and remained missing since then.

The following morning, local people found his body inside a bamboo cluster at Modhupur village in Badalgachhi upazila.

Being informed, police recovered Khaleque's body and sent it to Naogaon General Hospital for autopsy, Officer-in-Charge of Badalgachhi Police Station Jalal Uddin said.

Police suspect that criminals might have killed both the drivers and took away their vehicles.
