2 cattle lifters beaten dead by mob in Rangpur

Two suspected cattle lifters were beaten to death by a mob while another was injured in Pirganj upazila of Rangpur early today.

When a gang of five suspected cattle thieves entered a house at Matherpur village, villagers rushed to the spot hearing hue and cry of the family members and encircled them, our Dinajpur correspondent quoting Rezaul Karim, officer-in-charge(OC) of Pirganj Police Station.

At one stage, locals managed to catch three of them and gave a good beating,  leaving two dead on the spot and another injured, the correspondent reports.

The injured was rushed to Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH), Rezaul Karim added.
