2 ‘robbers’ killed by mob in Comilla

Two suspected robbers were killed and another injured in a lynch-mob attack at Ranichara village in Chandina upazila early today.

Rasul Ahmed Nizami, officer-in-charge of Chandina Police Station, said a gang of robbers gathered in the area to commit robbery around 4:00am.

Sensing the presence of the robbers, local people chased them off and caught three of them while the others managed to flee.

They were identified as Solaiman 28, Rubel, 25, of Debidwar upazila and Naim,28, son of Selim Mia of Belashohor village in the upazila.

Later, the mob gave them a good thrashing, leaving them critically injured.

On information, police rushed in around 6:00am and sent the trio to Chandina Upazila Health Complex where Solaiman and Rubel died after admission while Naim got admitted to the hospital.
