A 15 kilometre tailback ensued on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway after a truck broke down on the Meghna bridge in Munshiganj early today.

The tailback, from Bhaber Char in Munshiganj’s Gozaria upazila to Mollikpara in Narayanganj’s Mollikpara, was persisting when last reported around 10:30am, a local correspondent reports.

The Dhaka-bound truck broke down on the Meghna bridge around 4:00am, said Sergeant Shah Zaman, in-charge of local Bhaber Char police outpost.

“Due to heavy traffic, a huge tailback ensued. The truck was removed from the road within an hour. But, the tailback is still persisting. We are trying our best to ease the situation.”
