15 injured in AL feud

At least 15 people were injured, three of them seriously, as two ruling party factions clashed in Barguna town yesterday.

Critically injured Rubel, 25, Swapan, 50, and Salim, 45, were sent to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.

Police said Pathorghata upazila AL held a meeting at Barguna circuit house where supporters of lawmaker Hasanur Rahman Rimon and Farzana Sabur Rumki, daughter of former lawmaker Golam Sabur Tulu, and chased each other. Police brought the situation under control.

Rejecting the allegation of attacking Rumki's men, Rimon said her supporters attacked his followers without any reason.

Jewel, 22, Mohammad Ali, 50, Golam Mostafa, 60, Abdur Rahim, 33, Rajib, 30, Jahangir, 35, Rafiq, 60, Shahin, 30, and Monir, 60, are under treatment at Barguna General Hospital, police said.
