1,37,198 pilgrims to perform hajj this year

A total of 1,37,198 hajj pilgrims would be able to perform the hajj this year.

Of them, 17, 198 pilgrims would go under government management, while the rest under private management, the parliamentary standing committee on Religious Affairs Ministry said today.

The government has signed a deal with Saudi Arabia in this regard, it said in a press release.

The government has already prepared a calendar for the hajj pilgrims to make the hajj easy and smooth for the devotees.

Meanwhile, the JS body also recommended allocating Tk 10 lakh for the renovation of the mosque, Tk 5 lakh for the renovation of Madrasha and temple for each constituency.

Md Hafez Ruhul Amin Madani, president of the standing committee, presided over the meeting where top officials of the ministry and members of the committee were present.
