12,619 teachers selected for non-govt institutions

The government today published a list of 12,619 candidates for recruiting as assistant teachers to non-government educational institutions including schools, colleges and madrasas for the first time across the country.

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid unveiled the list through online at the Secretariat.

The list is available on the website of the Non-Government Teachers' Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA).

Short message service (SMS) through mobile operator Teletalk has been sent to the successful candidates. The respective institutions will provide them with the appointment letter.

A total of 13, 75, 187 candidates, who passed non-government teachers recruitment tests so far, applied against 14, 669 posts in 6,470 institutions.

Some posts, however, remain vacant due to no application and other reasons.

Speaking at the occasion, the minister said that the recruitment process is supposed to be held like that of Public Service Commission (PSC) as per the Education Policy 2010.

“Thus the teachers have been selected transparently and fairly without any hassle,” he said.
