12 hajj agencies yet to complete visa procedures

Uncertainty looms for 2400 pilgrims

Twelve hajj agencies are yet to complete visa procedures of around 2,400 pilgrims creating uncertainty over sending them to Saudi Arabia to perform hajj this year, top officials at the Hajj Camp said.

“We’ve issued letters to those 12 hajj agencies for completing all formalities and apply for visas of hajj aspirants by tomorrow. Otherwise, we’ve warned them of taking stern actions against them,” Saiful Islam, director, Hajj Camp, said while talking to reporters at his office at Ashkona of Dhaka.

He also informed that so far 84,418 pilgrims got visas. Of them 50, 217 hajj aspirants have reached Saudi Arabia till this morning.   

Bangladesh got the quota of sending 1, 27, 198 pilgrims to perform hajj this year.
