11 Shibir men held with jihadi books

Police arrested 11 leaders and activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir with jihadi books from a coaching centre in the town yesterday morning.

The arrestees are Tozammel Haque Bakul, 28, former office secretary of Dhaka metropolitan Shibir unit, Monjurul Islam, 26, president of Dinajpur Government College unit, and activists Abdul Karim, 22, Ishhat Ali, 25, Jewel Rana, 23, Saidul Islam, 22, Mohammad Ali, 24, Tanzirul Islam, 22, Habibur Rahman, 26, Moniruzzaman Monir 21, and Imtiaz Hossain 22.

On secret information, a police team raided Prithibi Coaching Centre in Paharpur area of the town and arrested the Shibir leaders and activists with the jihadi books, said police.
