‘Quasem’s verdict is victory of our movement’

Gonojagoron Mancha today hailed the appeal verdict of war criminal Mir Quasem Ali and said it was an achievement of the movement they were all in.

“The Jamaat-e-Islami leaders who tried to foil Mir Quasem’s trial have failed and it has been proved through Quasem’s verdict,” Imran H Sarker, spokesperson of a faction of Gonojagoron Mancha, told reporters this morning.

The Supreme Court today upheld death for Mir Quasem Ali for his crimes against humanity in 1971 Liberation War.

Activists of Gonojagoron Mancha, a platform that demands the highest penalty for war criminals, gathered at Shahbagh in Dhaka since 7:00am ahead of the apex court’s sitting.
