‘Bomb-like’ object found near chief justice’s village house

An object, what police suspect to be bomb, was found near the ancestral house of Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha in Moulvibazar today.

The object, that has an outer appearance of a gas cylinder, was spotted in an open space adjacent to the house by a domestic help, reports our local correspondent.

Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha is currently staying in his ancestral home in the district’s Kamalganj upazila. He stayed out last night, police said.

After being informed, police, along with experts from Rapid Action Battalion (Rab), secured the object, said Md Shahjalal, police superintendent of Moulvibazar, from the spot.
