Covid-19 patient flees Barishal hospital, returns home in Bhola

A Covid-19 patient who escaped from Sher-E-Bangla Medical College Hospital in Barishal was found at his house in Bhola today.

The elderly man is now under isolation and receiving treatment at home in Kolapara village under Daulatkhan upazila, the district's Civil Surgeon Ratan Kumar Dhali said.

He had coronavirus symptoms and was admitted to SBMCH's corona unit on May 21, reports our Jhalakathi correspondent.

His sample was tested in the hospital's PCR lab and it came positive for Covid-19 on May 22. The patient was informed about the result immediately.

Doctors went to the corona ward to give him treatment but did not find him since yesterday noon, said the civil surgeon.
