Coronavirus testing lab inaugurated at Noakhali Science and Technology University

A laboratory for testing samples of suspected coronavirus patients was inaugurated at Noakhali Science and Technology University today.

Dr Md Didarul Alam, vice chancellor of the university, inaugurated the lab at its Microbiology department this morning, reports our local correspondent.

The full-fledged test activities of the laboratory will begin from Monday with the capacity of testing 196 samples per day, Newaz Md Bahadur, proctor of the university, said at the inaugural session.

Noakhali's Civil Surgeon will supervise the activities of the lab and the test results will be published through his office, the proctor said.

A 40-member team of students and teachers of the university will work at the laboratory and they will be given training by the health department to deal with issue safely, Newaz added.
