Netrokona district locked down

District administration today announced that Netrokona will be placed under lockdown until further notice, in a bid to contain the spread of coronavirus.

Netrokona Deputy Commissioner Md Moyeenul Islam issued a directive in this regard today afternoon.

As per the directive, no vehicles -- except those engaged in emergency services -- will be allowed to ply in the district during the lockdown period.

No one will be allowed to enter Netrokona from other districts or leave Netrokona during the lockdown, the directive also read, adding that road communication and water communication between Netrokona and other districts will also remain suspended until further notice.

No one will be allowed to come out of their houses after 6:00pm, the directive also read, adding that legal steps will be taken against those found violating the directives.
