Narayanganj physician dies of Covid-19 at DMCH

A physician of Narayanganj today died of coronavirus at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

The deceased, Amen Khatun, 63, was a senior consultant at the Gynecology department of Narayanganj 300-bed Hospital, our local correspondent reports quoting Narayanganj Civil Surgeon Md Imtiaz.

Amen Khatun, who was director of Amen General Hospital in the city and Proactive Medical College Hospital, breathed her last around 11:30am, the civil surgeon said, adding that Khatun tested positive for Covid-19 nine days ago.

M Abdul Bashar Siddiq, son of the deceased, said his mother had been suffering from fever and breathing difficulty for at least 15 days.

After isolating at home for a day, she was admitted to the DMCH on May 21, where she had been placed on ventilator support, Siddiq said.
