Police lock down Sher-e-Bangla Nagar slum in Dhaka

Police locked down a slum in the capital's Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area today after a resident tested positive for coronavirus.

The resident of Motaharer slum, a temporary worker at National Institute of Laboratory Medicine and Referral Centre, tested positive yesterday, said Jan-e-Alam, officer-in-charge of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station.

There are around 300 families living in the slum, the OC said.

They locked down the slum around 5:00pm, he added.
