Gonoshasthaya Kendra's founder and trustee Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury, who had tested positive for coronavirus infection yesterday, is doing well.

Dr Zafrullah said this during an interview with The Daily Star Bangla this morning.

"I request all to not spread any misleading news. I am not experiencing any other physical difficulties or discomfort so far… I am healthy and doing well," he said.

Dr Zafrullah had tested Covid-19 positive yesterday.

Dr Bijon Kumar Sil, head of microbiology department at the Gono Bishwabidyalay, who led the team in developing the kit, tested Dr Zarfullah's samples using the newly developed Rapid Dot Blot kit.

"I was detected at a primary stage," Zafrullah said, adding that if he had gone to hospitals to get tested, he might have spread the virus to many others.

Dr Zafrullah, who placed himself in home isolation after the test results came, said he will go to the Gonoshasthaya Hospital this afternoon for kidney dialysis.

Dr Bijon Kumar Sil will test him with the antibody kit again then, he said.

"Although it is unlikely for an antibody to form in only two days," he said.
