Covid-19: 20 die, 473 infected, 514 recover in 24 hours

Twenty people have died from Covid-19 in 24 hours (till 8:00am today), according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of deaths is now 8,023 and the death rate stands at 1.51 percent.

At least 473 new infections were recorded in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 5,31,799, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 3.34 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 14.96 percent.

A total of 14,169 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8 am today).

At least 514 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this time.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 4,76,413 and the recovery rate at 89.59 percent.

Among the deceased, 16 were men and four women while one was within 21-30, one between 41-50, five between 51-60 and 13 were above 60 years old, added the release.
