Covid-19: 17 dead, 528 infected, 509 recovered in 24 hours

At least 17 people have died from Covid-19 and 528 people were infected in 24 hours (till 8:00am), according to a press release issued from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) today.

The total number of recoveries rose to 4,77,935 after another 509 patients were discharged from the hospitals during this period.

Meanwhile, with the new deaths, a total of 8,072 people have died in the country so far.

The total number of infections now stands at 5,33,444 as 528 new cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours.

A total of 15,720 samples were tested at 200 authorised laboratories across the country during the time, said the DGHS.

Of the total sample tests in the past 24 hours, 3.36 percent tested positive, the release further added.

Among the total infections, 89.59 percent patients have recovered, while 1.51 percent died so far since the first Covid-19 positive cases were reported in the country on March 8 last year.
