Covid-19: 16 die, 813 infected, 883 recover in 24 hours

Sixteen people have died from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours (till 8am today), according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of deaths in the country has now reached 7,849.

At least 813 new infections were recorded in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 5,25,723, added the release.

A total of 883 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours (till 8am today), reports BSS.

Among the total infections, 89.48 percent patients have recovered and 1.49 percent died so far since the first Covid-19 positive case was reported in the country on March 8, BSS added.

The current positivity rate is 4.9 percent.

A total of 16,608 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8am today).

At least 4,70,705 have recovered so far, Bangla daily Prothom Alo reports.
