Bangladesh will get 1,27,92,000 vaccines from the COVAX programme, led by the World Health Organization and Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance.

The Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), Gavi and the World Health Organization, as co-leads of the COVAX initiative for equitable global access to Covid-19 vaccines, alongside key delivery partner Unicef, today published COVAX's first interim distribution forecast.

Building on the publication of the 2021 COVAX global and regional supply forecast, the interim distribution forecast provides information on early projected availability of doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine in Q1 2021 and the AstraZeneca/Oxford vaccine candidate in the first half of 2021 to COVAX facility participants.

The website said it is important to note that WHO EUL has not yet been granted for the AstraZeneca vaccine 1 -- although evaluation processes are currently underway.

Pending these final decisions, and based on current estimates of supply, the COVAX Facility has provided an indicative distribution for each Facility participant, covering Q1 and Q2 2021.

The final allocation of the AstraZeneca vaccine will be undertaken following process and governance outlined to and agreed upon by all Facility participants, and will be subject to the validation of the Independent Allocation of Vaccine Group (IAVG).
