Anu Muhammad tests positive for Covid-19

Noted economist and member secretary of the national committee to protect oil, gas, mineral resources, power and ports, Prof Anu Muhammad has tested positive for coronavirus.

He is now undergoing treatment at Mugda General Hospital in the capital, Anu Muhammad, a professor of economics at Jahangirnagar University, told our university correspondent today.

Earlier, his samples were tested at Dhaka Medical College Hospital and the result given yesterday was positive, he said.

His wife Shilpi Barua Bappy, has also tested positive for coronavirus and she has been undergoing treatment at the same hospital since July 28, he said.

She is now doing well and the issue of her recovery from the illness will be known after a certain lung test, Anu Muhammad said.
