Amitabh Bachchan tests positive for Covid-19, admitted to hospital

Renowned Indian actor Amitabh Bachchan has been admitted to a Mumbai hospital after testing positive for the coronavirus. The 77-year-old actor confirmed the news on Twitter, adding that his family and staff are also being tested.

"I have tested CoviD positive .. shifted to Hospital .. hospital informing authorities .. family and staff undergone tests , results awaited .. All that have been in close proximity to me in the last 10 days are requested to please get themselves tested !" Bachchan Tweeted tonight at 11:22pm (local time).

The actor was last seen in Shoojit Sarkar's "Gulabo Sitabo".
