98 Covid-19 deaths reported in 24 hours

4,014 infected, 7,266 recover

Ninety-eight people have died from Covid-19 in 24 hours (till 8am today), according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of deaths has now reached 10,781 and the death rate stands at 1.46 percent.

At least 4,014 new infections were recorded in the meantime, taking the total number of people infected to 7,36,074, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 14.63 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.95 percent.

A total of 27,429 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8am today).

At least 7,266 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 6,42,449 and the recovery rate at 87.28 percent.

Among the 98 deceased, 62 were men and 36 were women. Of them, two were within 11-20 years old; one between 21-30; two were within 31-40; 14 between 41-50; 20 within 51-60; and 59 were above 60 years old, added the release.
