88 Covid-19 deaths reported in 24 hours

3,629 infected, 5,225 recover

Eighty-eight people have died from Covid-19 in 24 hours (till 8am today), according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of deaths has now reached 10,869 and the death rate stands at 1.47 percent.

At least 3,629 new infections were recorded in the meantime, taking the total number of people infected to 7,39,703, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 14 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.95 percent.

A total of 25,896 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8am today).

At least 5,225 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 6,47,674 and the recovery rate at 87.56 percent.

Among the 88 deceased, 62 were men and 26 were women. Of them, one was within 0-10 years old; six were within 31-40; six between 41-50; 15 within 51-60; and 60 were above 60 years old, added the release.
