78 Covid-19 deaths, 4,636 new cases in a day; positivity rate now 19.27%

Seventy-eight people have died from Covid-19 in 24 hours (till 8am today). The daily positivity rate during this period stood at 19.27 percent, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of deaths in the country has reached 13,626 and the death rate stands at 1.59 percent.

At least 4,636 new infections were recorded during the period, taking the total number of people infected to 856,304 added the release.

The total positivity rate stands at 13.48 percent.

A total of 24,057 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours.

At least 2,827 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 785,482 and the recovery rate at 91.73 percent.

Among the 78 deceased, 56 were men and 22 women. Of them, one was between 21-30, seven between 31-40, eight between 41-50, 23 between 51-60 and 39 were above 60 years old, added the release.
