722 police personnel recover from coronavirus

A total of 722 police personnel who tested Covid-19 positive earlier made recovery till today.

Many of them have joined duty to serve people during the Covid-19 crisis, says a press release from Police Headquarters.

The recovery rate among police is increasing rapidly due to "improved standard of treatment", it added.

Meanwhile, 178 more police personnel were infected in 24 hours, taking the total to 3,574 till this noon.

Around 1,300 of the infected are from Dhaka Metropolitan Police. Twelve infected police personnel have so far died.

There are around two lakh members of the force for around 17 crore population in the country.

The total number of infected across the country stands at 32,078 till today; meaning more than 11 percent of the infected are police personnel.
