Six people, including three children, of two families have be taken to isolation ward in Sonaimuri Upazila Health Complex in Noakhali on suspicion of coronavirus infection, doctors said.

The patients were suffering from fever and cold, our Noakhali correspondent reports quoting Dr Mainul Islam, upazila health officer of Sonaimuri.

They got sick after coming in contact with a Dubai-returnee recently and tried to hide the information, the doctor said.

Being informed by a local representative, the patients were brought to the health complex by an ambulance from Deoti village yesterday night, Dr Mainul said.

Since there is no equipment to collect samples from the patients at the health complex, they were sent to the isolation ward, he added.

Meanwhile, houses of the families were put under lockdown this morning, said Tina Pal, upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) of Sonaimuri.
