58 fined in Bagerhat for violating social distancing directive

Mobile courts in Bagerhat have fined 58 people for disobeying the government directives on social distancing to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the country.

Bagerhat additional district magistrate M Shahinuzzaman said the mobile court drives were conducted in nine upazilas of the district in the last 24 hours, and fined 58 people Tk 30,810 for violating the directives on social distancing.

Over 30 mobile court drives are being conducted in the district every day to ensure that people stay home and maintain the social distancing in a bid to stop the spread of Covid-19.

Mamunur Rashid, deputy commissioner of Bagerhat, said they will continue their efforts to maintain social distancing.
