26 Covid-19 deaths reported in 24 hours

Twenty-six people have died from Covid-19 during 24 hours (till 8am today), according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

This is the lowest number of deaths due to Covid-19 reported in a day since March 24.

With this the total number of deaths reached 12,102 and death rate stands at 1.55 percent.

At least 848 new infections were recorded in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 7,79,535, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 10.82 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.68 percent.

A total of 7,835 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8am today).

At least 852 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 7,20,471 and the recovery rate at 92.42 percent.         

Among the 26 deceased, 19 were men and seven women while one was between 31-40 years old; four were between 41-50; seven between 51-60; and 14 were above 60 years old, added the release.
