Contempt rule for Prothom Alo article

The High Court today issued a contempt of court rule on the Bangla daily Prothom Alo for publishing an article on the proceedings of the court.
Editor Matiur Rahman and Joint Editor Mizanur Rahman Khan have been asked to explain why the contempt of court proceedings should not be initiated against them for publishing the article.
Mizanur Rahman, author of the article, will have to appear before the court in person on March 6 to explain his position.
The article was published on Friday under the headline “Minute-e Ekti Agam Jamin Kivabe” (how is an anticipatory bail order possible in a minute).
The HC bench of Justice Naima Haider and Justice Zafar Ahmed issued the rule in a suo moto move after some lawyers including Barrister Rokanuddin Mahmud and Barrister Rafique-Ul Huq drawn the attention of the judges to the article.
