Zillur's death anniversary today

Today is the fifth death anniversary of former president Zillur Rahman, a veteran politician, Language Movement hero, organiser of the Liberation War and close aide of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Zillur died in Singapore in 2013.

He was appointed the 19th president of Bangladesh in 2009 and had also served as general secretary of Awami League for 12 years. To pay tribute to him, AL and its associate bodies will place wreaths at his grave, offer prayers and hold discussions.
