Man shot dead in Chittagong

A man was shot dead in broad daylight in Chittagong city today.

Bullet-hit Ibrahim Manik, 32, was whisked off to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where doctor declared him dead around 12:30 pm, our district correspondent reports quoting Nayek Jahangir of CMCH police camp.

Unidentified assailants opened fire at Manik in Alkoron area, the police official said.

An eye witness, MD Sobuj, who works at a shop in the area, said he came out of the shop hearing a gunshot around 11:30 am and found the man lying on a pool of blood on the road.

“The shooter left the scene by the time I reached there” Sobuj told The Daily Star.
