Youth held over Dhaka hotel manager murder

The Detective Branch of Police yesterday claimed to have arrested the lone accused in a case filed over the murder of a hotel manager in the capital’s Bongshal on August 25.

The arrestee Mosharraf Hossain alias Mosharraf Karim, 18, was arrested from his village in Lalmohan upazila of Bhola early yesterday, said Abdul Baten, joint commissioner of DB police, while briefing reporters at DMP Media Centre.

Karim allegedly killed Anwar Hossain, manager of Hotel Al Arafat, following a dispute over salary payment and went into hiding, the DB official said.

A case was filed with Bongshal Police Station a day after the killing.

During interrogation, Karim reportedly told investigators that he killed Anwar for not getting his salary, said Baten.
