Workshop on empowering the visually impaired held

Blind Education and Rehabilitation Development Organisation (BERDO) yesterday held a workshop on empowering visually impaired people at its office in the capital's Mirpur.

Social Welfare Minister Rashed Khan Menon presided over the workshop as the chief guest, said a BERDO press statement.

The minister said within one and half months a committee will be formed to select the schools for the visually impaired to bring those under the monthly pay order (MPO) list.

Nurul Aktar, CEO and director of Energypac, and Md Saidul Haque, BERDO founder and executive director, were also present.
