Worker killed in factory wall collapse in Gazipur

A worker was killed when a wall collapsed on him at a sweater factory at Mawona in Sreepur of Gazipur early yesterday.

Nasir Ahmed, 25, of Purbo Aktapara village worked at the dyeing section of Crown Wool Ware Ltd.

Following the incident, co-workers gathered at the factory gate and started protesting. They vandalised some glass windows of the factory and alleged that two other workers were killed in similar incidents earlier.

Later, police brought the situation under control.

Khorshed Alam, GM of factory, said the factory was declared shut for the day and refused to say anything else.
