Women aged 18 to 30 vulnerable to cybercrime: Study

Around 73.71 percent victims of cybercrime are women aged between 18 and 30 years, according to a recent survey conducted by Cyber Crime Awareness Foundation.

A roundtable was organised by the foundation at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) today to share the findings of a survey of 133 victims of cybercrime incidents.

Of them, 51.13 percent victims were women and 48.87 percent were men, Kazi Mustafiz, convener of the foundation, presented the findings.

The survey also found 30 percent of the victims do not know how to seek help in cases of cybercrime.

Joint Secretary of ICT ministry Abul Mansur Mohammad Sharfuddin and Assistant Professor of Anthropology Department at Dhaka University Rasheda Rounok Khan were also among those present during the roundtable.
