Woman's body recovered in Bhasantek

Body of a woman was recovered from her residence in Bhasantek area in Dhaka this morning.

The deceased was identified as Sonia Parvin, 33, from Faridpur, Sub-Inspector Mahesh Chandra Singh of Bhasantek Police Station told The Daily Star.

Upon information from the neighbours, the body was recovered around 8:00am from the tin-shed house where no one else was present, he said.

The victim used to live with his husband and son at the house in Tonartek area of West Bhasantek that was rented to them around three months ago, neighbours said.

At the beginning of this month, Sonia went to her village home in Boalmari of Faridpur with her son. But she came back to her husband yesterday without her son, neighbours added.

Finding the door ajar in the morning, the neighbours went inside the room and found her body lying on the bed with a piece of cloth bound around her neck, they said.
