AL's victory in next polls only 'a formality' away: Quader

Victory in the upcoming general elections for Awami League is “merely a formality”, said the ruling party General Secretary Obaidul Quader yesterday.

“The country's people are happy with the development during the present government's tenure. So, we have no fear and worry about the next general elections,” he said while talking to reporters at a programme in the capital's Dhanmondi.

On behalf of AL, Quader distributed rickshaw-vans among the poor, marking the birthday of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Quader said, “We have got over the fear through our development works.”

He said AL does not worry about BNP's propaganda against AL and the government as people did not respond to them [BNP].

“People of the country have already rejected BNP.”

He said AL is trying gain peoples' support while BNP is trying to foil the next general elections.
