Venom 'worth Tk 45cr' seized in Dhaka

Police claimed to have seized 12 pounds of snake venom worth Tk 45 crore and arrested one person in Dhanmondi area of Dhaka last night.

The arrestee was identified as Md Solaiman Azad, 61, of Comilla, according to a press release issued today by the media wing of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

A team of law enforcers raided a house in Dhanmondi around 8:05pm and seized the snake venom from the possession of Solaiman, said the release.

A case was filed with Dhanmondi Model Police Station in this connection.
